What rocks my boat when it comes to Wedding Photography?
It’s your day, not my photo shoot, and I want to photograph it naturally capturing all the important moments that REALLY matter, to you.
My goal is to tell the story of your wedding day in as unobtrusive a manner as possible, using a combination of composition and light to create emotive images that stay with you forever. I'm always looking for emotion, whether it’s the look on a groom’s face when he first sees his bride, the groom and his father in-law howling with laughter, granny dancing after a few too many sweet sherries or the children skidding across the floor on their knees. It is my job to shoot the wedding you experience, and to show you the little bits that you may have missed.
I will take stunning images that will instantly transport you back to a specific moment from your wedding day. After all, these images will be treasured for the rest of your lives. Once the magic of the wedding is over, it will be the photographs of the day that you will turn to time and again to relive those moments.
I want you to enjoy your day, to be free to give your guests your full attention. I don’t want to be pulling you away from them, I don’t want to keep stopping your wedding so you can pose for contrived shots. I want to photograph your day as it unfolds. Moving around your wedding relatively unnoticed, capturing your day as you experience it, and the odd little quirks that you may miss!
Of course they’ll be group shots that you’ll want and I’ll do those, I’ll do them quickly and naturally, and I will shoot you and your guests relaxed, happy and looking fabulous (no awkward line ups!)
Let me tell the story of your wedding day through beautiful creative photographs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book?
I recommend booking as soon as you’ve set a date and booked your venue. I take on a set number of weddings each year to make sure I give each one the time, care and attention that it deserves. I generally have bookings a year to two years in advance. For babies and families, I can be a bit more flexible, so shoot me a message using the contact form and we’ll go from there.
What is your approach on the wedding day?
I’m pretty relaxed and personable as a person, but I’ve always got my eye on the ball. I’ll keep things chilled but will put my boss hat on when needed. I’m all about natural, documentary style photography full of candid moments and genuine love. No cringey posing or forced smiles. You will usually find me mingling with your guests capturing their experience of the day. I often hear ‘we forgot you were there’ and I am sometimes mistaken for a guest!
What if it rains on the day?
Not a problem. I have photographed plenty of weddings where it has rained. I come equipped with umbrellas and if you really want to go for it in the rain, you can always bring a pair of wellies. During the summer months it’s usually just a shower, so we can always switch things around and do the outside photographs later in the day. Otherwise we can always find somewhere inside your venue. In a nutshell, we’ll do like Beyonce and make some lemonade!
Can our family & friends view / buy prints online?
Yes! Your photos will go onto a private, password-protected site. That means you can share the password with your nearest and dearest and they can access your photos with the option to buy prints.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes! I have a spare everything.
How do we make a booking?
The first thing to do is send me a message via my contact form, then I can confirm if I am available for your chosen date. Next, I’ll send you a price list and if you’re keen, arrange a meeting to chat about your plans. If you decide to make a booking, all you need to do is fill out a booking form and pay a 10% deposit and we’re good to go. I’ll then send you a signed confirmation for your records.
Do you have business insurance?
Yes. I have Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Cover.
What is your photography style?
My style is natural, relaxed and tasteful. I look for lots of natural light and vibrant colours. I’m pretty good at noticing things and I absolutely love spotting unexpected photo opportunities. Capturing little hidden moments that people usually miss is my superpower. I like to get a good mix of natural photography alongside couples portraits, group shots and detail shots. Brought together these paint a vibrant picture of your day that you can cherish forever. Check out my gallery section and blog for a closer look at my work.
We hate posing for pictures. Do we have to pose?
Preach. I hate posing for pictures too! For most people, posing isn’t natural and we’re just not used to it. If you’re uncomfortable, it shows. And who wants pictures of themselves looking uncomfortable? Not me. You most certainly don’t have to pose if you don’t want to. My style is all about capturing the REAL you and the joy of your wedding day, so relax and enjoy it!
