MEANINGFUL MOMENTS & MEMORABLE EXPERIENCES

"...It’s a lazy Sunday. You’re blissfully full from lunch, the house is echoing with laughter, and you steal a cheeky kiss in the kitchen while trying to dodge the dog and a rogue Nerf gun. Someone yells out, “Hey, remember your wedding day?”

So you pull the album off the shelf and you all end up leafing through for hours - what makes you laugh? What makes you remember?

Maybe it’s the photo where we snuck away as the sun set and the air smelt so fresh. Or the image of your mum and your then new mother in law howling with laughter. And what was cousin Janet thinking (drinking) with those break-dancing moves?

And there's the moment your vile flew right off your head, over the balcony and was rescued by passing surfers! Maybe it’s the photo of you and your best mate (who now lives in England which you slightly hate her for) sharing a hug and few tears before the ceremony..."

These are the details that matter.

Three steps, that is it. No labyrinth, no twenty seven tabs open at midnight wondering what you have missed

01 Get in touch. Fill in the form whenever you have a minute, coffee in hand, half watching Netflix, or hiding from the kids for five seconds of peace. I check if I am free, gather the details I need, and send you clear, honest information with straightforward pricing and no surprises later. If you would like to chat properly, I am always up for it. We can meet in person or jump on Zoom, see faces, hear laughs, and get a feel for each other. And if you already feel sure and want to skip that step, that is completely fine too.

02  When you are ready to move forward, the next step is securing your booking. There is a booking fee, which is not an extra cost. It comes off your final balance. It simply holds your date so that when someone else asks, I can say sorry, it's taken. It also means I start thinking about you straight away, your day, your people, your moments. Just to be clear, the fee is non refundable, as it secures your date and covers that initial planning and preparation.

03Once that is done, you are booked in, which is the nice part. I will send you my planning guide, full of genuinely helpful recommendations, little tips, and things you might not have thought about yet. You will also get a questionnaire so I can shape everything around you, not a template wedding, not a copy paste love story, just yours.

Simple, easy, done. And then I get to make something really bloody special with you.

THE PROCESS

WHAT ROCKS MY BOAT

It’s your day,  not my photo shoot, and I want to photograph it naturally capturing all the important moments that REALLY matter, to you.

My goal is to tell the story of your wedding day in as unobtrusive a manner as possible, using a combination of composition and light to create emotive images that stay with you forever.  I'm always looking for emotion, whether it’s the look on a groom’s face when he first sees his bride, the groom and his father in-law howling with laughter, granny dancing after a few too many sweet sherries or the children skidding across the floor on their knees.  It is my job to shoot the wedding you experience, and to show you the little bits that you may have missed.

I will take stunning images that will instantly transport you back to a specific moment from your wedding day.    After all, these images will be treasured for the rest of your lives.  Once the magic of the wedding is over, it will be the photographs of the day that you will turn to time and again to relive those moments.

I want you to enjoy your day, to be free to give your guests your full attention.  I don’t want to be pulling you away from them, I don’t want to keep stopping your wedding so you can pose for contrived shots.  I want to photograph your day as it unfolds.  Moving around your wedding relatively unnoticed, capturing your day as you experience it, and the odd little quirks that you may miss!

Of course they’ll be group shots that you’ll want and I’ll do those, I’ll do them quickly and naturally, and I will shoot you and your guests relaxed, happy and looking fabulous (no awkward line ups!)

Let me tell the story of your wedding day through beautiful creative photographs.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Previews_J&J-1_VSCO.JPG

Why should we hire you?

I’m a wizard at wedding dresses—lacing them up while feeding a toddler half a banana, giving the father of the bride an emergency haircut with nail scissors, walking the dog, popping to the shop for milk, ferrying stranded guests when the car gives up, tying ties, pinning buttonholes, blowing up balloons with lipstick still fresh. My bag’s got plasters, painkillers, safety pins, and snacks. I’ve danced the conga with a camera in one hand and caught confetti midair with the other. I don’t flap. I don’t fuss. I just quietly get sh*t done while snapping the bits you didn’t even know were happening..

How far in advance should we book?

I recommend booking as soon as you’ve set a date and booked your venue. I take on a set number of weddings each year to make sure I give each one the time, care and attention that it deserves. I generally have bookings a year to two years in advance. For families with babies, I can be a bit more flexible, so shoot me a message using the contact form and we’ll go from there.

What is your approach on the wedding day?

I’m pretty relaxed and personable as a person, but I’ve always got my eye on the ball. I’ll keep things chilled but will put my boss hat on when needed. I’m all about natural, documentary style photography full of candid moments and genuine love. No cringey posing or forced smiles. You will usually find me mingling with your guests capturing their experience of the day. I often hear ‘we forgot you were there’ and I am sometimes mistaken for a guest!

What if it rains on the day?

Not a problem. I have photographed plenty of weddings where it has rained. I come equipped with umbrellas and if you really want to go for it in the rain, you can always bring a pair of wellies. During the summer months it’s usually just a shower, so we can always switch things around and do the outside photographs later in the day. Otherwise we can always find somewhere inside your venue. In a nutshell, we’ll do like Beyonce and make some lemonade!

Can our family & friends view / buy prints online?

Yes! Your photos will go onto a private, password-protected site. That means you can share the password with your nearest and dearest and they can access your photos with the option to buy prints.

How do we make a booking?

The first thing to do is send me a message via my contact form, then I can confirm if I am available for your chosen date. Next, I’ll send you a price list and if you’re keen, arrange a meeting to chat about your plans. If you decide to make a booking, all you need to do is fill out a booking form and pay a 10% deposit and we’re good to go. I’ll then send you a signed confirmation for your records.

What is your photography style?

My style is natural, relaxed and tasteful. I look for lots of natural light and vibrant colours. I’m pretty good at noticing things and I absolutely love spotting unexpected photo opportunities. Capturing little hidden moments that people usually miss is my superpower. I like to get a good mix of natural photography alongside couples portraits, group shots and detail shots. Brought together these paint a vibrant picture of your day that you can cherish forever. Check out my gallery section and blog for a closer look at my work.

We hate posing for pictures. Do we have to pose?

Preach. I hate posing for pictures too! For most people, posing isn’t natural and we’re just not used to it. If you’re uncomfortable, it shows. And who wants pictures of themselves looking uncomfortable? Not me. You most certainly don’t have to pose if you don’t want to. My style is all about capturing the REAL you and the joy of your wedding day, so relax and enjoy it!
